In September we line up an array of interesting speaker coming to introduce you to topics of great interest to graduate students.
And of course, there are also fun parts, such as games, the orientation social and other events.
Visiting Speaker
This seminar series invites interesting speakers in a health related field to come and talk about their projects. There is usually a reception and a networking session afterwards to give you the chance to meet the speaker personally.

HSGSA Curling League
Each year in January the students come together to participate in the annual Curling League. Saturday afternoon's we play at the West Kildonan Curling Club for about 2hours.
This league is not really competetive, more fun oriented and everyone is welcome. For the beginners there will be a clinic at the first date.

At the Annual General Meeting you can hear about what has been going on throughout the year. You also get the chance to bring up your ideas and concerns as well as meet the Executive, if you haven't done so at a previous occasion.

Each year between February and March the students elect the Executive for the coming year (starting in May). If you are interesting in running, this is your chance, keep your eyes posted for the Nomination period.

Canadian Student Health Research Forum
Every year the HSGSA participates in organizing the Research Days at the beginning of June. During these days students from all over the country showcase their research and get to meet similar minds.
We organize various tours, such as the Winnipeg City Tour, and tours to the National Microbiology Lab (NML), the National Research Council (NRC) and the St. Boniface Institute for Cardiovascular Science.
On one night we also offer the infamous Boatcruise on the Red River, where we have dinner and party while going Down the Red River...
