University of Manitoba Security Services are available on both campus and they offer a variety of programs to ensure the safety of everyone. Programs include but are not limited to Safewalk, Code Blue, Student Patrol, Crime prevention and Rape Agression Defense. Code Blue

The Emergency telephone stations in different areas on both campuses offer a two-way communication with the Security Services Department if the emergency button on the pole is pushed.
When a Code Blue alarm is activated, officers will be priority dispatched to the location and, in most cases, will arrive in under 2 minutes. For more information, please visit

Safewalk

A Safewalk is your opportunity to not walk alone around campus. It can be requsted anytime (24/7). Someone will come and accompany you to your car, the busstop or just around campus.

Rape Aggression Defense Systems (RAD)

The University of Manitoba Security Services offer the National Standard for Self Defense Education, namely the RAD-Program. This program offers self-defense classes for women which gives you a theoretical awareness as well as a practical training. Great: Once you have taken a course and obtained a signed Reference Manual you can refresh your training for the rest of your life at any location that offers RAD programs. The cost for the 12h course is only $25 for students.
